More Wedding Stuff

The wedding plans for daughter number 2, Andrea, continue. The wedding is gong to be in November, in Oklahoma and so that presents some interesting logistical challenges for us. For our first daughter, Tarah's, wedding we could collect and store the "stuff" as time went along and then take the week before to get everything set. Andrea and wedding will take place 2,000 miles away from here in a large church facility. The room for the reception is large open space and we are inventing ways to fill it.

I've decided to use this design, that I've created out of their names, to make a large cut out to hang at one end of the reception room. My plan is to purchase sheets of styrofoam insulation that you can get at a hardware store.  I will copy the design onto a transparency, and then use an overhead projector to draw the image onto the styrofoam. Then I will use a styrofoam hot knife to cut out the design. Then I will paint the entire thing black and then do the front in gold. The lines will be a darker color—maybe brown. Perhaps the "&" and the heart should be a different color. I'll have to experiment with that. I figure it will be approximately 5ft high and maybe 12ft long. But I've just got a couple of days to make it in. The trick will be to get it right the first time.

This is actually my second attempt at this design. The first one looks a lot like this one. I drew that one while sitting between two gentlemen on a plane while flying home from our recent trip to Oklahoma. I'm pretty sure they thought my name was Evan and I was silly in love with a girl named Andrea. At one point I decided to make it clear to one of the gentlemen what the design was for. He said, "oh."

P.S. Just in care you're wondering: As of this morning I am down 19.5 lbs. I think that I definitely look thinner, but I've still got a long ways to go.

Can you be a family friend and show up at our wedding in Texas next May with a sign reading "Jay & Jenna"??? I'll feed you! Oh come on, how many Korean weddings have you been to? You can even bring Marylynn!

Great job on the weight!!! I started way before you and I'm down 15lbs. Sigh, at least 8 to go!

Hang in there buddy! We can do it! Just think how fantastic we will both look on our kids wedding photos, hehe.
