It's been too long between post, but I just had nothing to share. I just finished another caricature. I should be able to post that soon. Christmas is almost upon us. If you're looking for that gift for the person that "has everything," then I'm your cartoonist.
In the mean time, I visited a website where people could type in their favorite verse and this verse from Philippians seemed to be a favorite among favorites. At first I was drawing a guy easily lifting a large dumb bell with his mere finger, while the Lord, basically, doing all of the lifting. But, then I realized that's not how the Lord does things. He will help, but He lets us do our own share of lifting so that we will grow stronger. At least, that's how I see it. What do you think?
Someday, I'd like to have 365 of these "devotional doodles"—enough to publish a book someday. Would you buy one?

I think that's a great idea. It would also work for one of those page a day calenders. I'd buy one!
Rick - I noticed your comment on my blog, so I decided to come on over to yours. Boy, am I glad you did!! I really, really like it! My brother is a cartoonist (not by profession, but in his heart I know he'd rather be doing that than architecture!!). I always loved his drawings. I really like yours!
Love the picture of Philippians 4:13 - I think your idea of a "devotional doodle" book is FANTASTIC one!! I would ABSOLUTELY buy one (I'll be the first one in line!)
I also liked your logo for your church...
Hope you visit me again - I know I'll be checking in here on a regular basis!
GOD BLESS!
I LOVE this cartoon! It's brilliant :)
I love your idea for a devotional book too.
That's a really good one!
I think the idea is very good. I would buy it and share with my boys and use it as a way for us to remember key verses from the Bible!
Bravo!! Love it! I believe what you said, 100% about us doing our share. Too much I hear Christians say "He's done it all" like it absolves them from any responsibility.
Great cartoon! I would buy a copy of your book too.
I really like this idea. And agree with Mari--the page a day calender is also a great idea too.
Thanks for dropping by my blog earlier. I love the cartoon and the verse! It is a great idea to put together a compilation of 365 of those...Hey, maybe on one of those tear-off calendars! (Like Gary Larson used to do...but, with a Christian theme!)
Blessings to you, Joan
I really enjoyed looking at this, and you made a great point. God's not going to do all the work if we aren't willing to pull our weight. I enjoyed the idea of the calender to, that would be pretty awesome.
What a great idea for a book. Go for it!
Your doodle is great. Thanks for your comment on JOHN THREESIXTEEN.
I love this and YES I would buy the book.
