Our Daughter's Wedding

We made it back from Oklahoma despite winter weather storms that swept through the entire NW. We are happy to be home safe and dry. Here are a few of the many photos that I took at our daughter, Andrea's, wedding to her young man, Evan.

The wedding took place in Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. It's located right across the street from where our two oldest went to college. In fact, Marylynn and I met there. The church has a large, beautiful sanctuary. The idea of trying to put together decorations for a room like this from 2,000 miles away was a bit overwhelming for us. This is a shot from the rehearsal the night before.

The wedding coordinator had this "practice skirt" for Andrea to wear. I thought it was a bit silly at first, but it was really nice to have as there was a lot of fixing the wedding dress during the actual event.

A good friend acted as our florist and decorator. Andrea wanted a fall theme for the wedding. She painted all the pumpkins, and our friend let us use the gazebo. We picked up packages of leaves at the dollar store, but we ended up having to move them out from under the wedding attendants as they kept getting caught up by Andrea's dress. Her dress acted like a rake.

A shot of one of the isles that the wedding party walked in and out of.

I was allowed to enter the dressing room while all the ladies were getting ready. It was definitely an estrogen overload zone.

This is a shot of the reception hall. It was another large room to try and decorate. I think that my wife did an excellent job. We had a lot of help from many good friends.

Andrea wanted a candy/snack table. I think that it was a very popular spot during the reception. I missed a shot of the cookie table that had a milk fountain. It too was very popular.

This is a display of wedding photos from parents and grandparents on both sides. We saw this done at a wedding at our church here in Oregon and we stole it from them.

One of the table center pieces at the reception.

Another table center piece. There were pumpkins everywhere!

 My girls—all so beautiful.

Andrea and Evan broke tradition and saw each other before the wedding. It made taking the photos a lot simpler. This was his first chance to see his bride in her dress—the lucky guy.

 The grooms men.

Andrea's good friends.

Parents of the bride standing beside one of the "name thingies" that I made for the wedding. (See the previous post for further details.)

I just has to share this picture again. I forget what we were laughing about, but uur youngest snapped the camera at just the right moment.

More wedding decorations. I was trying to get a record of everything that I could because, as my experience knows, the wedding photographer never gets everything.

Evan and his brother and sister. They are a nice family.

Mom and me. Don't you just love her.

The Green side of the family.

Andrea and her grandmother.

 The mothers.

The pictures is a little out of focus, but Marylynn and I had to show the kids what a real kiss looked like.

Our oldest, just got married two years ago last month. If you're a sucker for wedding photos, you can check her's out here and here.

The Mosshart side of the family. There was a whole bunch of them too.

 My beautiful daughter.

She turned out not half bad.

The entire wedding party.

 The cake and more decorations.

A cascade of wedding gifts—so many generous people.

The wedding seem to be well attended. I don't have a count but we think that there was over 400. What do you think?

 The reception in full swing.

 Cutting the cake.

Throwing the bouquet. Andrea had a very wimpy toss.

Evan going after the garter. I kept thinking, "It's okay. He can do that now."

Shooting the garter. It was a wimpy attempt too. What's wrong with these kids nows days?

Exiting the church.

 I love this shot.

A final wave and they off!

Next! These two plan to get married in June—Lord help us!! After that there was no more daughters.
