Steph contacted me about doing an illustration for her Father-In-Law's birthday. She said that he is a retired New York State trooper, and that she wanted an illustration which included all of his grandchildren. Since a law enforcement theme was in order I first thought of putting the kids on a chain gang with grandpa holding a shot gun or something. But we thought better of turning the kids into criminals.
(Though they might be the type - I don't know them.)So! I came up with the idea of turning the whole
chain gang lot of them into Keystone Cops.
Pop Pop turns 70 today, March 11th. Assuming you're not one of those he's pulled over, why don't you wish him a happy birthday and many happy years with his posse.
I really like how this illustration turned out - a fun and happy drawing. What do you think?

That's it? No cartoon or witty story to go with these photos?
To Jennifer: Too funny. I clicked on "publish" before I was finished with the post. The whole time I was thinking, "That's ok. No one will ever see it before I get the entire post finished." But, NO!! There was your comment just as I got the thing done.
I'm honored that you were so quick on the draw.
Ahhh... Google Reader takes the credit for that! It tells me when someone has made a new post almost immediately. I do like your stories though and am glad I didn't miss this one!
Rick, I love your work! Maybe I'll someday commission you to cartoon my clan. Course, my kids are quite the cartoonists themselves. So you'll have a lot of competition! ;)

This is one of my favorites. Everyone loves Keystone cops. Your work is great.
That's great Rick. How many have you done in total now since starting your blog?
To Tismee2: That's a good question Gail. I really don't know. I suppose I could go back over my blog and simply count the ones that I've posted on it. I still have a long list of request in my computer that I am working on. So, I guess the answer is "a lot."
RickY,
How are you feeling?
I saw this on Steph's site and I loved it. You did a great job. I think it such a wonderful gift and fun idea. I love the whole cop with the gang theme.
