Kathy, from Ray Travel, wanted a gift for her husband, Lykele - a proud Dutch, born in Friesland. He is a pilot and Kathy loves gardening her tulips.Besides the caricatures, there are a number of subtle additions to this illustration. The Friesland flag, the number on Lykele's plane (He doesn't fly a biplane, but it works better with a caricature.), the chicken (He sells dairy commodities for Foster Farms - you've seen the commercials.), and Kathy's Weight Watchers Buddies name planted in the garden.
What I like most about this drawing is the color and the bright cheerful feeling that I think it conveys.
