Love your blog and I've been reading it and following you around for AGES now (in the deep dark shadows of readerville)
Your posts always make me smile. :)
I was going to drop by on Valentine's Day and say hi, but it, um, kinda got away from me.,, what with digging my way out of the piles of chocolate that just seemed to appear around me and all.
Anyway, I saw the pictures today and I'm still smiling... see... :) :) :)
Rick, your work is amazing! I read every post but didn't leave other comments because it would have been monotonous to say "Ooh, Ahhh, WOW" over and over.
Have you ever considered illustrating a children's book?
To Heartinsanfrancisco: Do you mean my own children's books? All the time.
I have a stack of children's stories that I've created and want to go back and redraw for publication, but I think that when it comes to my own artwork I am too much of a perfectionist, and so I don't finish the project.
If you're talking about someone else's children's book?... I've had several people ask, very few follow through.
Cute drawings. But I have to ask Rick... When you are in a meeting doodling, do you actually focus on the meeting? lol. If you can doodle and listen to the meeting at the same time Congrats!, if however , you aren't paying attention to the meeting, lets hope you don't wind up in Oklahoma running your own team ( reference to Chandler falling asleep in a meeting and agreeing to move to OK, without knowing what he really agreed to on FRIENDS :))
To Mabunny: Maybe I'm just kidding myself, but I think that doodling during a meeting actually helps me focus on what's being said.
The problem is that I don't think that the other people in the meeting view it that way. They probably see it as a distraction for me. But I have come to conclusion that "I've got to be me." And the truth is... I'm a doodler.
I wish I had your talent to whip something up like that while sitting in a meeting. Fabulous. My repertoire of doodling consists of stick figures, elephant bums and goofy little hearts and flowers.
Thank you for leaving me a comment on DD's wedding... I wanted to tell you how much I have enjoyed looking at your illustrations! They are awesome! If you want some funny illustrations, make some of your wife as she plans DD's wedding and you will see her age and become hairless very quickly!! JK! But give her lots of hugs, she will need them!

Just Because
Those two guys look a little goofy. I hope they are not indicative of anyone in the meeting.
Were you doodling anyone in particular? Or did these come straight from ye old noggin?
To Boufmom9: They are no one that I know of. I fear that they are the fruit of my old noggin.
well done!! :-)

Well then keep on doodling!! More power to ya if you can doodle and concentrate during a meeting.
