Not So Funny Anymore

Just a quick post - very busy day today.

This is another cartoon I drew for the local paper last year. At the time $4.99 a gallon seemed funny. It doesn't seem as funny anymore.

Since I live in a touristy location, and since I ride a Harley, this cartoon strikes a personal note. How do people afford the gas in those beast? I'd rather sleep in a motel.

Feel free to copy and share.

ROFL - I often wonder the same thing. We have a RV trailer camp right behind our house and when I see one drive in, I always wonder how far they drove to get here and how much it cost them. Stay in a hotel!!

Petrol is now $1.80 a litre here, which would be $2.16 a litre in USA.... 1 litre = 3.7 gallons, so our petrol is $8.17 a gallon !!!! Want to emigrate?

To Chris H.: Do you?

I spend way to much time driving to neighboring towns. My Jimmy does not get great mileage. I guess I should just be glad it is not $8.17.

To Brenda: Get a motorcycle.

Do they make kids car seats for motorcycles?

Too funny that you did that one a year ago. $4.99 is what I just paid to fill my tank this week. OUCH! So much for a college fund.

HAHA!, but truthfully not to funny. Too close to home. It is up to 3.51 a gln here in Dallas. The lowest amount I've paid in the last few weeks was 3.29 and can't find that again.

Can't imagine paying over $8!, Yikes!!

Well... we tow a big beast around and it is expensive. It's like having a rolling cabin and we go places where there are no hotels. And we can take our dogs. If we didn't live in such a beautiful place and had to go a lot farther... we'd probably get rid of it. Of course, with a kid headed off to college, we might sell the house and live in it.
