What? Me Stress?

Thank you to everyone that took the time to post a birthday wish to Jim-Jim, my BIL. I really appreciated it and so did he. My sis, Beck, said that he saw the post early in the day, but got to celebrate the rest of his special day by visiting a couple of doctors. Oh joy!

Last week, the wife and I were at a conference where the speaker, a medical doctor, stressed the need get the proper amount of rest and relaxation. While he was speaking, instead of taking notes, I was relaxing by doing some doodling. Here's is just one of the creations that I put down on paper.

Maybe you can relate.

Speaking of stress... We're on an 11 day countdown to our daughter's wedding. There is MUCH to be done, and we're feeling a bit stress - not enough time to get everything done.

One of the projects that we have going is the collecting and drying of hydrangeas for the floral decorations. Our laundry room, and my office is full of hydrangeas. It's amazing how many little critters live in those things. I discovered one the other night crawling across my drawing table.

(Now I'm going to brag here: You can't see it, but our laundry room is one of the few that I know of that has a view of the ocean. But don't go thinking that I spend a whole lot of time in there.)

And hey!... This doodle is another "Copy & Share If You Dare" creation. I'm thinking that some of you out there can find a reason to post this piece. You know the rules... drop me a note so that I can come and take a peek.

It's late. Peace out...

I know all about stress! But, I love the doodle.

I hope the flowers turn out beautifully. You'll have to take pictures of the final product!

Wow, you have a view of the Ocean from your laundry room? I can just imagine the view from other parts of your home. I know those flowers are going to look amazing at the wedding. How do you feel about giving away your daughter ?

To Mekhismom: I love her hubby-to-be, but I'm such a big baby that I tear up every time I think about giving her away. The other day I saw the photo of when we first carried her through our front door - it nearly put me under.

How exciting!!! I love weddings! You will have to tell us how you handled it! Be sure to squeeze out a few tears. My Dad was so happy to get rid of me that he could barely contain his glee. Of course, when we were signing the marriage certificate he was all wanting me to hyphenate my maiden and married names. Uh... no tears.. NO WAY old man!!! I left that maiden name in the dust!

I'll let you know when I come back and lift the doodle!

I feel like that right now in regards to my mother in law! Even if my laundry room had a view of the ocean, I still would put off doing it!

congrats on the upcoming wedding. what an exciting time. I added the stressed out cartoon to a column I wrote a few weeks ago, called "When Pity Partied Fail." It had to do with a week of personally feeling overworked and under appreciated--anyone relate? The following link should take you there: managingyourlife.blogspot.com/2008/08/when-pity-parties-fail.html

Thanks for the fun art.

Love your laundry room!!! :) Congratulations on your daughter's wedding coming up. We've done two (daughters) weddings and there's so much to do.. Never had to dry hydrangias though:) Love your doodle and yes, I can relate!

Rick, I'm envious of your ocean view.

I'm glad I never had daughters because I'd make them elope or I would be in a huge puddle of tears at their weddings. I cry at weddings on tv so one could imagine what I'd be like if I had my own children and they were getting married... I'm sure all will go well for you and your daughter.

I showed my husband your post and your comment about tearing up thinking about it, and he just asked me if I was trying to make him sad.
Hope the wedding goes well, but it looks like things are well on their way.
Its a special day for you too, Father of the Bride :)
