Family Practice - You Don't Send Me Flowers

It's been a while since I published one of my Family Practice cartoon strips. For those newer guests to my blog, this was an attempt a few years ago to get a strip into syndication. But that was not to be. In order to submit an idea to the cartoon syndicates you must show them at least a month's worth of concepts. I drew more than that, but now I'm running low of examples to post here.

Younger readers probably won't get the punch line. The line "You don't send me flowers" won't resonate with them. But you older bloggers...

If you want, you can see my earlier Family Practice posts by typing that into the search bar above.

LOL I am NOT an older blogger... but I get it and recall the song quite well LOL.

Martha and I printed off several of the verse doodles colored them and they are now on the pantry door (art door of the living room) we have been hanging art there for MANY years and took down several very old peices to hang these... will take a photo so you can see the door :)

That's a shame your cartoon didn't get picked up. Your art work is certainly good enough and I found this installment funny (haven't searched for the others yet). Thanks for posting it. :)

That's great. Being one of your "older" bloggers, I do get it.

Now I'm gonna go look at some of the other strips.

Have a great day.

I love that song (I play it on the piano) and it was perfect in the cartoon!

You're drawings are so good and your captions clever. Sorry no one jumped at the chance to publish your cartoons. Trying to get published is a real frustration--thank goodness for blogs. btw--I'm catching up, hope all went well with your daughter's wedding.

I get it, too! It's hard to believe that so much talent goes unnoticed...but not unappreciated.

We love that you share your gifts with us, and hope you continue for a long time (for our sake)!

Ah. Barbara and Neil. "Those were the days my friend. I thought they'd never end."

Quite a shame it never got picked up. Well, their loss -- and ours too I guess, but then we do get you here in this venue... :)

I bet if you kept at it, it would be picked up eventually. My Dad always said, "it's the squeaky wheel that gets greased."
