A collection of doodles with a bit of commentary by RICK GREEN - your cartooning friend

It's Your Duty

I'm not too proud of this doodle. I threw it together rather quickly. I was ready to post another caricature that I did last week, but decided to delay that a bit. Then I realized that I should post something to commemorate the national elections on Tuesday.

This piece speaks to the idea that I think we've all been chewed up by the abundance of "info-mercialization" of it all. I'm sure that we will all breath a sigh of relief when it's all over - no matter who wins.

It's been years since I've voted in the classic voting booth with the pull curtain and everything. In Oregon we get our ballots in the mail and get to mail them back in, or place in a drop box. The wife and I have already voted. So, you can't call us one of the undecided. We've done been decided for several days nows.

Happy voting! Copy & Share If You Dare. Click on the image for the larger size.

Love the doodle! We vote tomorrow and I will drag my poor wracked with pain body there if I have to crawl. Can't wait for it all to be over and we can get back to our regularly scheduled programming. :) xxoo

We don't do mail-in ballots in Canada, at least my part of Canada. How on earth do you get people to mail them back in?

I'm picturing thousands of blank ballots buried in piles of bills on the counter, all across the country....

To Patti: Yes, probably, but it's no different than the many that would stay home and never vote at a polling spot. Plus, it saves the state a ton of money doing it this way. I'm all for that.

The one big difference is that you never get those little stickers that says, "I voted today."

Love the doodle! My point is-if you don't vote you have no right to complain! Wish we had mail in ballots-no fun waiting in line-but thats where I'll be come morning!

We got to the polls on Saturday down here in New Zealand... I for one have always voted for the same party, and will again. Hope your preferred party wins!

Ha, this is great! Why aren't you happy with it?

I can't wait until the election is over! I voted early too and have had to suffer through the endless campaign promises, mud-slinging and ads on TV.

Oh, and to answer your question about where I get the time to paint. Well, my bathrooms and floors all need some attention because I paint instead of clean. And I make sure to set aside time regularly every week (otherwise I'd be no fun to live with).

I voted today. Much to my (pleasant) surprise, the line was only 15 minutes long. Woo Hoo.

Tonite my family will be glued to the television to see what happens.
