Another Reject

It is very important to me that my customers are satisfied with the art that I create for them. I want them to be able to look at it and enjoy their doodle always.

As I have shared in the past, occasionally I do get a less than favorable response regarding a piece. Here is another example of that.

Earlier I created a cari- cature of Katrina and her husband. That one "passed the mustard." After showing this attempt to Katrina and her mom, this one "died in the ketchup."

The concept is a road trip with their camper trailer to Hawaii—a fairly impossible scenario that Katrina's parents would love to play out.

I am now working on a second attempt. I have prior approval on the pen work from mom and daughter. So, stay "tooned" to see how I redeem myself and pull this one off.

We can't win them all I suppose. But they want you to come up with something else so that's a positive.

I'm sure this one will be just what they want.
I just wanted to tell you I have your Mother's Day doodle posted on my blog today! Thanks for sharing it!

Looks like a lovely drawing to me - but how do you get a caravan that huge over to Hawaii? Does it float too?

Well, Rick, knowing you, you'll get it where it is just right for your customers. I thought it looked pretty good, but I don't know the folks.

I'm going out to plant okra today before it rains again... so be looking for a mess of fresh okra if it survives the swimming time. I'll keep you posted.

Even if it wasn't what they had in mind - it's still a nice drawing!
Hope they like the redo!

Good luck this time. I think it's good. I looked at it closely to see what maybe they didn't like. (Although I know it's probably their faces)that's hard to look at a caricature of yourself and like it, if you're not remembering it's a caricature. Anyway maybe it's the dolphin jumping into his ear. Or maybe he wanted a grass skirt too. You never knoow.

Well, I can tell you what we didnt like about the picture. Now do not get me wrong I think Rick does a wonderful job. What we didnt like was that we couldnt tell it was our parents. And yes we understand that it is not a picture. We did however like the second drawing much better. Oh and Rick....I won't tell my Mom you posted this one on here. She really didnt like the way she looked in that one.
