I was in yet another meeting last Friday (a meeting I just as soon forget about - but that's another story) and so I was presented with yet another opportunity to get some doodling done.
Sometime during the meeting somebody said something about "snail mail" and I figured I would put it done in pen. Yesterday I "Googled" "snail mail" and saw I wasn't the first person to illustrate the concept, but of all the illustrations I saw I was the only one who ended up creating a sad looking character. All the other ideas were ones of happy little snails, gladly carrying out their postal duty. I think they got it all wrong. The problem with snail mail is that it moves at a snail's pace.
This guy is probably carrying that check you've been expecting to get in the mail. Isn't that the way it always goes? The bills come at lightning speed. Whereas checks take an eeeeeteeeerniiityyyy to arrive!!!!
Copy & Share If You Dare, but get it done quickly. These kinds of opportunities don't come around very often you know.

Too funny.... sometimes when i am waiting for my mom to send a card or letter it feels like an eternity. Have a great day. Keep them coming. Jaime
So true. I think the sad face too, maybe he's afraid of losing his job like so many are, due to the internet email is quicker you see.
I love it. There's a Thursday Challenge this week (photography) and the theme is communication. You did it so well with your tantalizing illustration.
I was thinking of photographing my snail mail, but it's all a bunch of junk mail, mostly. Love how you can think of these great doodle ideas.
I used your Crucified with Christ doodle for my Sunday's blog...loved it!
Thank you for allowing us to use your
works...love the Snail Mail!!!
LOL!I do believe all snails carrying mail are unhappy creatures. After al, if their own shells are so heavy that it takes them ages to travel a few centimetres, imagine how distressing it must be to be weighed down by our letters!
hey rick...trish would surely agree with me here.
i could have used this little guy when it was my turn to mail the traveling scarf to the next sister who lived in the states.
well that canadian mail of ours took so long in delivering that packaged scarf that i was beginning to believe the star of our blog had been kidnapped or something.
it was well over a week that char got that package!
yes...as i said that snail mail picture of yours would have come in right handy, eh...Ha!.........terry
ps..i made the scarf a passport over at the sisters blog..what do you think rick?
it will be flying out of norway tomorrow, i think.
