Spotlight On Baby Cakes

Sherrel & Ken run a small farm in Colorado. They have alpacas. An alpaca is "a domesticated species of South American camelid. It resembles a small llama in superficial appearance."

(I got that off of Wikipedia. Now all we have to do is figure out what a "camelid" is. I'll leave that for you to figure out.)

She wanted a logo for their farm which included Housetop Mt., a peak that is visible from their home.

She also wanted Baby Cakes, a particular beloved alpaca of hers, included in the illustration. I don't know how the other alpacas feel about that. Sherrel thinks she is "awesome." I think it was Baby Cake's eyes that won her this place of doodle honor

This was a fun one to create. I really like how it turned out. The lettering was done entirely by hand. None of it was computer generated. Sometime ahead I believe Sherrel intends to post this on a web site. I did a quick internet search and this was all that I could find.

What do you think—about the logo I mean. Not alpacas.

We have a stables just up the road and they have a couple of Alpaca's. They are cute - if a little raggy sometimes!

Thanks Rick, for the comments on my blog posts. Your work is so good. I do remember commenting on your Rooster drawing. As for why they are so popular I have no clue but Roosters go back to my childhood with my Mom Collecting them. Maybe they give us the feeling of getting back to a simplar life. I am going to put you on my follower list so I dont miss any of your work again. Other wise I lose track of people's blogs.

Hi Rick! Did you think I forgot you? I got my logo in the mail and I love it! My sister works in a sign shop and, well, now I have to figure out how big of a sign I want...
The other alpacas are a little sore over BabyCakes stealing the show:) I found out last week that we will be having our first cria here at HTMSA, keep your fingers crossed for me!
And whoever asked...they do spit. Not big lugies like a llama or a camel, but more like little puffs of air. They only spit if you are all up in their business too ;)
Thanks again, Your awesome!
