Family Practice - Aging Parents

This is another one of my Family Practice cartoons that came right out of real life. Sometime ago I was given a free copy of a book entitled "Caring For Your Aging Parents." When I saw the book I knew EXACTLY what to do with it. I put the book on our coffee table at home - right where my loving mother-in-law could easily find it. Sure enough, she saw it and asked, "Is this about me?" PERFECT! It couldn't have come off better.

She thought we were studying up on how to deal with her in her old age - I mean - "golden years" - whatever. I had to laugh and explain where the book came from. I think she has forgiven me - or maybe she has just forgotten.

I love my mother-in-law and what joy she brings to me by giving me opportunities to torture her just a bit.

I don't remember what I did with the book, but if I could find it I would be happy to loan it to you so that you could torture some of your in-laws as well.

Thank you for visiting my blog. My visit to *your* blog is certainly more entertaining, I'm sure. I made my way through your posts (I'm a fast reader) with little grins and chuckles dotted here and there. Then I came to the *Caring for Your Aging Parents* post and let out a belly laugh...sure am glad I didn't have coffee in my mouth at that particular time. ;o) What a great post!

One time load up in my brand new suburban assault vehicle to go out to eat. MIL in the back with my daughter, hubby and I in front, me on the passenger side where lo and behold my MIL's name is imprinted on the right side of the dash. I exclaim that fact, my MIL says, "Really" (oh so innocently), and I share that yes indeedy, it says her name: AIRBAG. I still laugh over that one.

Saw a sign a while back: Be Nice To Your Children - They Choose Your Nursing Home.

Thank you for a wonderful time on your blog...back to perusing more.

um...how did you *ever* find your way to my quiet little blog retreat?
